Sentry Firearms operates in strict accordance with all federal, state, and local laws governing the sale of firearms, components, ammunition, and accessories.

The restrictions outlined by Sentry Firearms are provided for informational purposes and do not constitute legal advice. We make no representations regarding the legality of any specific item in your local jurisdiction. It is the customer’s sole responsibility to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations before making a purchase.

Customer Acknowledgment & Certification

By purchasing any item from Sentry Firearms, the customer certifies, acknowledges, and agrees to the following:

  • Legal Responsibility: The customer assumes all responsibility for ensuring that the purchase, possession, ownership, and use of any item from Sentry Firearms complies with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances in their jurisdiction.

  • Independent Verification: The customer has independently verified that the purchase and intended use of the item is legal in their specific state and local municipality.

  • Indemnification: The customer agrees to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Sentry Firearms and its affiliates from any liability, claims, or legal consequences arising from the purchase, ownership, possession, or use of any item.

Warning: Failure to comply with applicable laws may result in severe legal penalties. If you are uncertain about the legal status of an item in your area, please consult a qualified attorney or local law enforcement before finalizing your purchase.

Prohibited Jurisdictions (No Sales)

Sentry Firearms does not ship ANY merchandise to:

  • Chicago, IL

  • Massachusetts

  • Washington, D.C.

  • Puerto Rico

California (Updated 2026 Regulations)

Due to AB-1263 and SB-704, significant restrictions apply to all “firearm-related products”:

  • Ammunition: Must ship to a licensed FFL dealer. No direct-to-consumer sales.

  • Firearm Parts: Barrels, triggers, upper receivers, and “precursor parts” (like 80% lowers) cannot be shipped to residential addresses. They must be shipped to an FFL for identity and age verification.

  • Firearms: No “Non-Compliant” rifles or pistols. No off-roster handguns.

  • Magazines: Strictly limited to 10 rounds or fewer.

  • Knives: No Automatic or OTF knives.

Connecticut

  • Ammunition: Requires a valid Pistol Permit, Eligibility Certificate, or Ammunition Certificate on file prior to shipment.

  • Magazines: Maximum capacity of 10 rounds.

  • Firearms: No “Assault Weapons” as defined by CT state law (including most AR/AK platforms).

  • Other: No binary triggers or “others” that do not meet state feature requirements.

Illinois (Statewide)

  • Ammunition: Requires a valid FOID card and State ID on file. The shipping address must match the address on the FOID.

  • Magazines: Long guns are limited to 10 rounds; Handguns are limited to 15 rounds.

  • Firearms: No AR/AK-pattern rifles or “Assault Weapons” per the Protect Illinois Communities Act.

New Jersey

  • Ammunition: No hollow-point ammunition (exceptions for target use/home only, but many dealers restrict all).

  • Magazines: Maximum capacity of 10 rounds.

  • Firearms: No “Assault Firearms” or “Non-Compliant” AR/AK variants.

  • Knives: No Automatic or OTF knives.

New York

  • Ammunition: Must ship to a licensed FFL or registered Ammunition Seller. No residential delivery.

  • Magazines: Maximum capacity of 10 rounds.

  • Firearms: No “Assault Weapons” as defined by the SAFE Act. No stripped lower receivers to NYC or surrounding boroughs.

Washington State

  • Firearms & Kits: No “Assault Weapons,” including AR/AK-pattern rifles. No parts kits, build kits, or threaded barrels for semi-auto firearms.

  • Magazines: Maximum capacity of 10 rounds.

  • Other: No binary triggers or OTF knives.

General Magazine Capacity Limits

If your state or city is not listed above, we still enforce the following capacity caps:

  • Colorado: 15 rounds (except Boulder: 10 rounds).

  • Maryland: 10 rounds.

  • Rhode Island: 10 rounds.

  • Vermont: 10 rounds (Rifles) / 15 rounds (Handguns).

  • Delaware: 17 rounds.

Important Reminders

  • PO Boxes: We do not ship firearms, ammunition, or third-party items to PO Boxes.

  • Alaska & Hawaii: Ammunition cannot be shipped. All other items require a Freight Forwarder.

  • Local Laws: It is your responsibility to know your local city or county ordinances (e.g., specific bans in Denver, CO or Aurora, IL).

Knife Ordering Restrictions

Automatic Knife Purchase Requirements

Before purchasing, please review the federal regulations regarding the sale and shipment of automatic knives. Under federal law, the interstate sale of “Automatic Knives” (including switchblades and Out-the-Front/OTF models) is strictly prohibited except under specific legal exceptions.

What Qualifies as an “Automatic Knife”?

  • Included: Any knife that opens automatically via a button, handle switch, inertia, or gravity.

  • Excluded: Standard assisted-opening knives. These are knives that use a spring or detent to keep the blade closed and require manual pressure applied directly to the blade (via a thumb stud or flipper) to open.

Authorized Purchasers

We can only sell and ship Automatic Knives to individuals or organizations meeting the following federal exceptions:

  • Federal Government: Procurement officers or employees purchasing for federal activities.

  • National Guard & Militia: Supply officers for the National Guard, Air National Guard, or State Militia.

  • State & Local Government: Officers or employees of any State, Territory, or political subdivision (such as municipal law enforcement) acting in an official capacity.

  • Industry Professionals: Manufacturers or bona fide knife dealers shipping to the authorized parties listed above.

Note: We will not finalize the sale of any Automatic Knife unless these legal conditions are verified and met.

  • Grenade Launcher or Flare Launcher
  • More than 10 Rounds

Semi-Auto Rifle with a Fixed Magazine Cannot have:

  • More than 10 Rounds

Semi-Auto Pistols with a Detachable Magazine Cannot have:

  • Magazine located outside of the Pistol Grip
  • Threaded Barrel capable of accepting a Flash Suppressor, Forward Pistol Grip, or Silencer
  • Shroud that encircles the Barrel except for a Slide
  • Secondhand Grip
  • More than 10 Rounds

Semi-Auto Pistol with a Fixed Magazine cannot have:

  • More than 10 Rounds

Semi-Auto Shotgun cannot have:

  • Folding or Telescoping Stock
  • Pistol Grip, Thumbhole Stock, or Stock that allows the individual to place the Trigger Hand under any portion of the Action
  • Shroud that encircles the Barrel except for a Slide (Handguard)
  • Ability to accept a Detachable Magazine

Any Semi-Auto Firearm that is not a Pistol, Revolver, Rifle, or Shotgun cannot have:

  • Pistol Grip, Thumbhole Stock, or other Stock that allows the individual to position the Trigger Hand under any portion of the action of the Firearm
  • Ability to accept a Detachable Magazine outside of the Pistol Grip
  • A Fixed Magazine more than 10 Rounds
  • A Flash Suppressor or Silencer, or a Threaded Barrel
